18 months of awesome

Sheesh, we have been slacking lately, haven't we?

Its not like things have been uneventful.  On the contrary, tons of stuff has been going on 'round these parts.

Mommy told me this morning that she really wants us to blog again.  So I made her hop on here and do the typing for me.

We will try to keep up more, but real quick a couple snaps so you can see how totally awesome I am.  Still. Heck, I am even more awesome than I was before.

Lets get these out of the way.  My mom still thinks taking pictures of me while I sleep is soooo funny.

I was just hugging my Elmo when I dozed off ... but it wasn't totally comfy ...

Ah yes, much better.

This is me on my Mickey couch in my room.  Everyone looks like that when they sleep on a couch.

Turns out I LOVE my Gramps' boat!

Floating in the water with my Daddy and brother was pretty awesome too.

I love, love, love blocks.  Particularly Duplos.  This was a Duplo race car, and my lap times were awesome. We didn't get to bring it home, but I am working on building my own.

Huge Sun Devil fan here, games are a lot of fun.

I even watch some parts of it.  Football is certainly interesting with all that falling.

This is me showing Daddy around the tailgating area.

I still hate my own shoes, but I enjoy wearing just about anyone else's.

I think this is very practical.

I totally rock my sunglasses though.

Even at night.

I can very successfully count to two right now.  Mommy keeps pushing me to involve three, but I figure I am not even two yet, so I am already ahead of the game.  Three and beyond, well it really isn't that important yet.  (P.S. That picture was taken in Mexico.  Yup, I am a world travelin' baby now!)

I have a superpower.  I can make my Daddy do anything.  He is pretty darn awesome.

Maybe that's where I get it from?

zzzzzzzz

Ever since the day Mommy drew on me while I was sleeping I always get a bit worried when she says she got "the best picture ever" of me while I was sleeping.  Apparently her desire to photograph me in embarrassing slumber doesn't always require drawing on me, but I do give her lots of opportunities to catch me resting my eyes.

Lately I have been loving my Baby Prison, AKA the Gulag.  Daddy felt bad for me that it was small, so he added the extra panels so it is bigger and oh my gowrsh it is totally awesome now.  I can run back and forth, play with toys, and have a lot of fun in there.  But sometimes a guy has to get some rest ... and that is when my Mom gets her paparazzi on.

I got her good with this one, she actually checked
to see if I was breathing still
I stole Micah's pillow, and was just cuddling
with it for a second

I also take naps in my car seat still.  Here I am with my new football.  Incidentally, guess what my first word is ... BALL!

Hey, I'm even in my jammies here!
Micah sneaking a kiss while I was snoozin'
After my birthday party I was sooo pooped!
Mommy says this is one of her faves ever.

UNO!

A year ago at this time I  had escaped tummy prison, but was still in the hospital and would have to chill there for a bit before I could come home and take over the house ... ahh, what a difference a year makes!  So here are some pictures from my birthday party and from my actual birthday which was the next day (and was also Easter).

That's me with my sign and the cool shirt Mommy made

Hey wait a sec ... is that dirt?

Hold up on the pictures, guys ... I found some cool stuff in this crack!

Everyone was calling these things "eggs" but
if you can throw it like a ball, and its round like a ball
then clearly it is a BALL!

This is me showing you how big I am.

Cake art!
I had sooo much fun this weekend, I got some cool new toys (I'll post more about them later) being one rocks!  But then I found out that it means you have to go visit the doctor again ...

the 3 Bubbas

When my Gramps and TT were in Hawaii this summer they bought three shirts from a place called Bubba Gump: one for me, one for Micah, and one for Emma.

The reason?  My Daddy calls his brother Bubba.  When Emma was still cooking in Auntie Mel's tummy a joke started that she was a little Bubbette.

Cut to my Mommy's parents being in Hawaii, knowing these stories and they see these shirts.  One for a baby boy that says "Little Bubba" and they thought to their grandparenty selves "Oh Kellan would look sooo cute in that! And his Uncle Bubba will think its funny!" But then they saw it in pink!  And it said "Little Bubbette" instead of Bubba!  And they said to themselves "Oh Uncle Bubba's little girl needs one of those!"  So they got me and Emma "little Bubba" shirts, found Micah one that he would like, and we brought them to Iowa with us ...

Super adorable in our Bubba gear, aren't we? :)

Thanks Gramps and TT!

this is me, showing my brother who's the boss

I love my big brother.

Really, I do. He makes funny faces, he plays with me, and I know he loves me more than just about anything. He's awesome.

But sometimes, I have to show him who's the boss.

I think the picture speaks for itself:

there was a baby in the car!

While waiting for my brother to get out of school in the line that takes for-ev-er, I made an amazing discovery. It seems the family has been holding out on me.

Mommy keeps another baby in the car.

I know, right? How could they not tell me this?!

There I was trying to decide if I would just fall asleep or if I wanted to scream out my frustration with having to wait in the car for Micah to get outside when I saw him. At first I froze, couldn't be sure if he was a friendly baby or not. But then I realized he was sizing me up too. As I sat there staring at him for a second I realized he looked like a really nice guy. We both just stared for a second but finally I got excited and realized that maybe this is a baby I could play with. In my excitement I squealed out a hello ... and he did too. Right at the same time!

So then I laughed because that was funny.

And he did too.
And so then I started talking to him. His mommy had buckled him in to one of those obnoxious car seats too, and he was waiting for his big brother to get out of school, and it was hot for him. Just like me!! Seriously, I was feeling all of that also.

After some bonding over how uncomfy our car seats were and how we were excited to see our brothers (who were both named Micah by the way) I decided I could trust this other baby. So I showed him my toes and told him how much fun they are. And you will never believe it, but he showed me his toes also!
Turns out he loves playing with his toes too. He likes to suck on his big toe just like me, and he said that he gets frustrated sometimes because he can't do that while buckled in. I feel the same way.

Later on we went on a drive in Daddy's truck and it turns out the baby goes there too! We talked some more then too, but both of us were pretty sleepy, so we just napped. I figure when I take Mommy out for some errands today I may get to see him again. I hope so, he seems like a nice baby.

roooooad trip!

We had to get out of the heat on Sunday, so I took Mommy, Daddy and Micah on a little road trip up north.

In all fairness, Daddy did the driving, but it was my idea.

Apart from the fact I really hate how altitude changes make my ears feel, we had lots of fun. I took a few naps, we got to be in cooler weather (it was 92 degrees and that felt fabulous!) and we had a good time.

surfer dudes

My Auntie Holly and Uncle John sent Micah and I these awesome shirts a little while ago. Don't we look handsome? (No need to answer, I already know we do!)

I'm a fish!

While it is absolutely still true that I hate baths, it turns out that I love skinny dipping.

It has been both hot and humid here lately and I really have a hard time dealing with it. If nothing else, the heat makes me sweat and that really hurts my still-healing head a lot. So we were over at TT and Gramps' house the other day and my Daddy and big brother went swimming. No matter how many fans I was in front of I was still just too hot so we decided to try a little dip in the pool. When I was okay with my feet in the water we took it further and soon I was in the pool having a good time. Mommy hadn't expected me to go swimming, so we didn't have any swimmy diapers so I just went commando. It was awesome. I loved every second of it, and felt much cooler. That is, until we got out and a breeze hit me, and if there is one thing I like less than being too hot it is feeling cold!

So as it turns out, I love swimming! I think the whole diaper/suit thing should be optional though!

me n' my G.G. & brudah

This is me with my Great Granddad. He's a pretty chill guy, so we didn't talk much, just hung out and smiled. On the other hand, this is me with my big brother, Micah. We are sorta planning to take over the world together.
