18 months of awesome

Sheesh, we have been slacking lately, haven't we?

Its not like things have been uneventful.  On the contrary, tons of stuff has been going on 'round these parts.

Mommy told me this morning that she really wants us to blog again.  So I made her hop on here and do the typing for me.

We will try to keep up more, but real quick a couple snaps so you can see how totally awesome I am.  Still. Heck, I am even more awesome than I was before.

Lets get these out of the way.  My mom still thinks taking pictures of me while I sleep is soooo funny.

I was just hugging my Elmo when I dozed off ... but it wasn't totally comfy ...

Ah yes, much better.

This is me on my Mickey couch in my room.  Everyone looks like that when they sleep on a couch.

Turns out I LOVE my Gramps' boat!

Floating in the water with my Daddy and brother was pretty awesome too.

I love, love, love blocks.  Particularly Duplos.  This was a Duplo race car, and my lap times were awesome. We didn't get to bring it home, but I am working on building my own.

Huge Sun Devil fan here, games are a lot of fun.

I even watch some parts of it.  Football is certainly interesting with all that falling.

This is me showing Daddy around the tailgating area.

I still hate my own shoes, but I enjoy wearing just about anyone else's.

I think this is very practical.

I totally rock my sunglasses though.

Even at night.

I can very successfully count to two right now.  Mommy keeps pushing me to involve three, but I figure I am not even two yet, so I am already ahead of the game.  Three and beyond, well it really isn't that important yet.  (P.S. That picture was taken in Mexico.  Yup, I am a world travelin' baby now!)

I have a superpower.  I can make my Daddy do anything.  He is pretty darn awesome.

Maybe that's where I get it from?

Things I can do

I am full of surprises.  You might expect that me being only one I can only do baby-type things.  Not so.
I can explore wild life and discover geckos!

I can concentrate reeeaaaaly hard.
You have to stick your tongue out for that.

I can rescue drowning frog puppets

I can play with the steering wheel on my play park

I can even drive a boat!
(In the backyard, on a trailer.
I can't tow the thing to a lake yet on my own, working on it.)
I can also walk, say "ball," know how to push buttons to make all my toys sing at the same time, can play along with the "If you're happy and you know it" song, and will help the Little Einsteins launch Rocket by patting my lap and raising my arms on cue.  Yeah, I rock.

my feet!!!

I love my feet. This is why I take the whole Piggy Prison thing sooo personally. I have heard that I have stinky feet. Psshh, whatevs.
I think they taste good!
And, this tickles!

If you're happy and you know it
clap your feet!
Whoa, look at the pruney feet!
They may be ticklish, and they may even be a bit on the stinky side already ... but I love my feet!

UNO!

A year ago at this time I  had escaped tummy prison, but was still in the hospital and would have to chill there for a bit before I could come home and take over the house ... ahh, what a difference a year makes!  So here are some pictures from my birthday party and from my actual birthday which was the next day (and was also Easter).

That's me with my sign and the cool shirt Mommy made

Hey wait a sec ... is that dirt?

Hold up on the pictures, guys ... I found some cool stuff in this crack!

Everyone was calling these things "eggs" but
if you can throw it like a ball, and its round like a ball
then clearly it is a BALL!

This is me showing you how big I am.

Cake art!
I had sooo much fun this weekend, I got some cool new toys (I'll post more about them later) being one rocks!  But then I found out that it means you have to go visit the doctor again ...

how about some pictures?

Hello followers of the best baby on earth!  There is so much to update its not even funny. So lets just cut to the chase and start in on some of the biggies about yours truly.

First off, I am even more fabulous and adorable than I was when last we posted.  I have been very busy learning how to be more mobile so I haven't really had much of a chance to let mom post here.  I am trying to walk, and I can manage a couple steps at a time.  But then I do the math and realize the amount of energy I am using to move and the speed at which I can actually go makes crawling a bit more effective still.  I actually love to climb and am currently working on an escape plan from my crib, play pen and the "cage" I play in while mommy types for me.

I still fall asleep sometimes in random places, and (sick woman that she is) Mommy likes to try to take pictures of me to giggle at and share with others.  Take this for example:

That is my bouncy.  It is all sorts of awesome!  I can bounce, spin, and play with toys all at once!  But it is also kinda comfy, and a guy can get worn out playing like that ... so sometimes I take a little snooze.

Well donchya know the second I fall asleep Mom is all up in my bizness with her camera takin' pictures!

I guess she felt bad and thought I looked uncomfy, so she tried to help me ...

But I really didn't need any help, I was comfy enough.

I really think snapping a picture at another angle was a bit unnecessary thought.

I also have some new friends!  I love watching little bits of TV sometimes while Mommy pretends she has other things to do.  Whatever.  So I loooooove Sesame Street, Little Eisensteins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I got a new car seat because I was just too big for the baby one, and I love to play with toys.  But the baby in the mirror?  Yeah, he's still there and we talk all the time!

Sometimes my parents need put in their place.

I allow them to think they are in charge and everything, but I mean, really, come on.  We know who's the boss of this place.  Here I am telling Mommy that mornings are not the time for talking.  They are the time for feeding babies and being very quiet.  She says I am just like Daddy in the morning.

As for food ... ahhh, I have such a complex relationship with food.  You see, I really do like milk.  A lot.  I have tried so many kinds of baby foods, even ones Mommy made and ones from the store ... but I really was kinda not into it.  So we tried other stuff too.  I like tortilla chips, but I don;t really eat them because they are all crunchy and the texture drives me batty.  So Daddy and Mommy tried regular soft tortillas.  But I wanted to play with it, so Daddy made it into a hat.  Which was confusing.

They tell me not to play with my food, then they do?  What is up with that?!  I like to paint with baby food whenever I get the chance, here I am with bananas!

But I do like to eat paper, and some people (ahem MOMMY!) get all bent out of shape about it.

Who makes a baby cry like that?!  What a meanie!

Anyway, thats enough of an update for now.  I am pretty super awesome and everything as you can see.  My first birthday is coming up so fast and I will be a one year old then.  Cool huh?  I sure think so!

do you ever get the feeling ...

So do you ever get the feeling ... that someone is watching you?

Sometimes I do too.

Creepy, isn't it?

There's a lot of photo op's in Iowa!

So if you have been reading my blog you know that I went to Iowa a little bit ago.  It was a lot of fun, and my parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents took about eight billion pictures of me, my brother and my cousin Emma.  Here are just some of the pictures so you can see how the trip went ...

You knew we had to have a sign, right?

We went to this orchard on the first day.  It was fun, the drive? Not so much.  I introduced my Iowa fam to the fact that I do NOT like driving in the dark at all on that trip.  But, we had fun for most of it.  I got to ride a horse made out of tires and we took some goofy pictures in this sign thing.
Me & Micah in this silly sign.
Daddy had to give a baby a boost for this pic.
Shouldn't I have a cowboy hat, and not a monkey hat
for riding horses?

Rockin' my monkey hat

I finally got to meet my new cousin, Emma!  She's still just a baby, not a big kid like me, cuz she's only 3 months old to my mature 6 months.  But it turns out we like the same things.  We both enjoy eating, being held, and ceiling fans.  We also both got a lot of spoiling done to us (so did my big brother) on this trip.

The Cutest Babies Ever
Even though we got along we did have some minor disagreements.  Mommy doesn't have it, but there is apparently a picture of our first fight somewhere ... she totally started it.  But here you can see we were laying on a blankie and they were taking the millionth picture of us because we had these penguin clothes on (Auntie Amanda loves penguins and bought us the clothes) and we were bored ...
Me: *SMACK* Ha ha, I got you that time!
Emma: Puh-leez, amateur, that was nothing.
And here you can see us in the Halloween clothes our grandparents bought us.  I think its a little unfair to make us change clothes so much all for the sake of pictures, but the adults can't help themselves.  They are weak to our baby-cuteness and have to do strange things as a result.  I was kinda weirded out that they stuck us in apple buckets, but right after this picture was taken they let me try to bite an apple and gave Emma a bottle, so we were willing to work with them for about 14 seconds.
The big people wanted a "fall" picture
My brother and I got some new Iowa Hawkeyes stuff.  This is a little big so I will be able to wear it in AZ when it cools off.
I got cool Hawkeyes clothes

I got to play in leaves.  Dead ones.  We don't do this in Arizona.  My grandparents have a picture of both Micah and I in the leaves, I will share that one when we get a copy!

Me in the leaves
I learned a important lesson ...

Turns out, I love my thumb in Arizona AND Iowa!
Realized my parents still need my help ...
Oh Daddy, that angle is all wrong!  Here, let me help!
Took a picture with the whole family ...
The Covingtons
No one noticed it, but Emma was hiding in that picture above!  Lil stinker!  My parents and brother took a picture with me too, but I was too cold to do any more after this!

That's us!
Had to get the grandparents with the grandkids!
Grampa, Emma, Micah, Me, and Grandma
All in all it was a great trip, and I will probably have more pictures to share later with you.
Donchya feel bad for babies that aren't this cute?
Nah, me neither.
